QR code: am I concerned?

During the Paris 2024 Olympic Games, a QR code digital pass system will be set up to secure travel in Paris and the surrounding area. It will help manage visitor flows and reinforce security during the Olympic Games.
With the opening ceremony of the Olympic Games taking place on July 26, 2024 on the banks of the Seine in Paris, a major security operation will be put in place.
It will comprise two perimeters: a grey perimeter and a red perimeter. These perimeters will be activated 8 days before the opening ceremony!

As of July 18, 2024, you’ll need to use this QR code pass to get around.

Places where the QR code will be required

The QR code will be required to access several key locations, including:

  • Olympic zones: all areas close to Olympic venues, including stadiums, arenas and Olympic villages. Security perimeters and maps are available here.
  • Public transport: Some metro stations, RER stations and bus stops around the Olympic venues will have QR code controls to regulate the influx of passengers. Consult the public transport situation here.
  • Touristic sites: Popular tourist sites near Olympic events may also require a QR code to manage crowds.
